Level 5 Diploma Healthcare Assistant Practitioner
The Level 5 Diploma for Assistant Practitioners in Healthcare qualification provides learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills to work as an Assistant Practitioner.
The Level 5 Diploma – Healthcare Assistant Practitioner is designed for learners in a wide range of settings. Assistant Practitioners work as part of the wider Health and Social Care team and have direct contact with patients, service users or clients providing high-quality and compassionate care.
The units are observed in your work-placement. Arrangements for this can be made via our centre.
Experience in the Workplace
To be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills, learners will need to be working in an assistant/practitioner role in an appropriate setting to be able to study for the qualification
Modules
There are 20 units in total to be completed and these are embedded into the following themes.
You will study a range of subjects including:
- Theme 1: Principles and philosophy for healthcare
- Theme 2: Working with others
- Theme 3: Person-centred practice for positive outcomes
- Theme 4: Safe ways of working
- Theme 5: Clinical activities and interventions
- Theme 6: Professional development
Eligibility to enrol on this programme
It is recommended that they hold a minimum 5 years of experience in the care sector and/ or Level 3 in the healthcare sector.

Progression
This level 5 qualification will enable students to progress into Nursing, Healthcare Sciences and Specialist Medical and Aesthetic Practitioner Degrees. Also, direct entry into Public Sectors and or Private Care jobs.
You can choose to complete a full degree which include all practical elements and a work placement in:
